We had a great night at Elio's. The food was excellent and our server was helpful and professional. Starters were the mushroom salad and the shrimp and bean salad. Both were tasty. Entrees were also top notch. We enjoy the hectic vibe and it looked like others in the room did also.
Best Italian food I've had in a long time. Plus it was super fun. The house was packed by 7 pm and the service was stellar. I started off with a cosmo which was chilled perfectly, the bread melted in my mouth, then the buffalo mozzarella which was so fresh with ripe tomatoes, I had the special rigatoni with cream sauce peas and ham and it was nothing short of spectacular, my friend loved the chicken Parmesan. It's really organized too and we were sat immediately. Can't wait to go back. They also have outside seating but inside is the spot.
The only reason I could imagine that Elio's gets a lower rating here is the bill, but let me tell you something, a good meal at a fine wonderful establishment, with great service is well worth it. I was let down that their Scarpariello isn't made with seemingly any ingredients, but I'm glad I asked.... I almost ordered completely wrong. It actually really really bothers me that most places make Scarpariello.... Incorrectly in my opinion. I digress; the stuffed veal was absolutely fantastic. The homemade guitar string pasta (I forget what it was in Italian) was also quite fantastic. The sourdough they served should have been warm, but again, so delicious! The drinks were okay and overpriced so just skip that part and save on the bill. Very nice night
It's a vibe. I was taken out to dinner to here and was so pleased. It's an intimate italian spot known to host many celebrities on the upper east side. The apps were excellent and the service was top notch, my foods kept coming out so fast this is well oiled machine. My favorite part was dessert. There was some sort of pear pie with raspberry crumble with ice cream that totally blew me away. I felt like i was at nonnas. It got pretty packed here quickly so make sure you have a reservation!
